Mia Nolte (she/her) began her dance endeavors at the age of two in her hometown of Iowa City, Iowa. Her first fourteen years of training occurred under the direction of Leslie Nolte, at the Nolte Academy of Dance, before she relocated to study at the Houston Ballet Academy under the leadership of Stanton Welch. After a year of dancing in Texas, she spent two years as a professional division student at the Pacific Northwest Ballet, where she had the privilege of training under Peter Boal. Mia performed various works by George Balanchine and Kent Stowell, along with choreographic works by the company dancers. Mia is currently working towards the completion of her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance Performance at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Her artistic journey has benefitted from various teachers including Kurt Douglas, Adriana Suarez, Marissa Parmenter, John Lam, Brian McGinnis, Marjorie Thompson, Susan Bryant, Kiyon Gaines Ross, and more. While at conservatory she has performed repertoire by Marius Petipa, Dwight Rhoden, original pieces by Norbert De La Cruz and faculty members, along with various student choreography projects.
